Contracts

Parish Council services, schedules and leases.

Devolved Services

Buckinghamshire Council no longer has the funds to provide regular maintenance services within villages. The Parish Council therefore signed a contract giving it the right to cut Buckinghamshire Council's grass verges within the village, clean road signs and carry out some weed killing. Buckinghamshire Council provides a small financial contribution and the Parish Council pays the majority.

RTM Landscapes cuts the grass verges in the village ten times during the growing season and carries out weed killing twice a year. RTM also cuts the grass in the play area every two weeks from April to October.

Road and street signs are scheduled to be cleaned in April 2026 under the Parish Council's devolved-services budget by Jason Franklin.

Grass Cutting Schedule

The published schedule gives the week in which grass cutting is expected to take place, rather than the exact day of the cut.

Dog Waste Services

Buckinghamshire Council's Street Scene team empties Granborough's five dog-waste bins. Each bin is emptied weekly, currently on a Wednesday, and sanitised twice a year.

Play Area and Coronation Meadow Leases

The Parish Council does not own the play-area land. It is leased from the Oxford Diocese under a 20-year agreement that is due for renewal on 28 February 2033.

The Parish Council also holds the lease for Coronation Meadow beside the play area. This lease expires on 28 February 2033.

Street Lights

The Parish Council is responsible for village street lights. Electricity is supplied by SSE on an unmetered daily rate under a 36-month fixed-price contract that began in April 2026.

Robert Lane volunteers to check the village street lights periodically. Faults are reported to E.ON for repair.
