Information about Granborough’s play area, its facilities and safe use.Granborough Play Area
Finding the play area
Our beautiful play area is at the end of Church Lane. Go through the gate into the field and follow the footpath to the next gate. The land is leased from the Oxford Diocese; the current lease runs until 28 February 2033.
Facilities and improvements
A play area for all ages
In 2012 the play area needed an update for older children. After consulting the village, the Parish Council raised funds with help from Community Chest and friends of the play area. It now has equipment for toddlers and older children, plus a bench and picnic table.
The wooden trail was replaced in May 2017 with a new trail containing many different elements. The horse rocker was restored later that year and the basketball hoop and post were replaced.

Care and inspections
Keeping the area safe
Grass in and approaching the play area is cut every couple of weeks during the growing season, and a litter bin is provided. The play area is inspected weekly and receives an annual professional safety inspection.
Play equipment is expensive, so the Council budgets each year for maintenance and future replacement. Please do not hang from the basketball hoop or climb its pole.
