Statkraft Energy Project – Call-In Request Submitted
Granborough Parish Council has formally submitted a request to Councillor Phil Gomm to call in planning application 25/01297/APP, submitted by Statkraft, for determination by the Buckinghamshire Council Planning Committee rather than through delegated officer decision.
This decision was agreed at the Parish Council meeting on Tuesday 17th June 2025, in recognition of the scale, complexity, and potential impact of the proposed development on the local community and environment.
By requesting a call-in, the Council aims to ensure that the application receives transparent and thorough scrutiny in a public forum, allowing for proper debate and community representation in the planning process.
We will provide further updates as this progresses and once confirmation of the call-in is received.

Update 11th June 2025

Update 21st May 2025
Statkraft has submitted a planning application to Buckinghamshire Council for the development of a Greener Grid Park on land north of the East Claydon substation. The application reference is 25/01297/APP.
The proposal includes the construction of energy storage and grid balancing equipment, associated infrastructure, landscaping, drainage, and site access works.
Although the site is not within the Granborough parish boundary, it lies adjacent to our northern edge. As such, Granborough Parish Council will be reviewing the application and submitting appropriate comments to Buckinghamshire Council.
As part of their pre-application process, Statkraft held a drop-in exhibition on 19 March 2025 and has now published a summary of the community feedback received, along with their responses. Key topics raised included safety, noise, traffic, and the cumulative impact of energy infrastructure developments in the area.
Statkraft has confirmed:
• A Community Benefit Fund of £20,000 per year will be available for local green initiatives if the project is approved.
• Safety measures have been designed in line with National Fire Chiefs Council guidance.
• A Noise Impact Assessment and a draft Construction Traffic Management Plan have been submitted as part of the application.
