Statera Planning Application

There is a proposal to build a battery storage system in Granborough, which will be connected to the East Claydon electrical substation. It is called the East Claydon Battery Storage Scheme. The company behind the proposal is Statera Energy, who have recently been holding exhibitions of the proposed scheme in the Village Hall and in the Claydons.

The formal planning application was submitted to and published by Buckinghamshire Council on 15th December 2023 as planning application reference number 23/03875/APP. Buckinghamshire are the relevant Local Planning Authority and they will determine the application. A link to the planning application can be found below.

Buckinghamshire Council plans to stop displaying public comments on planning applications, on their portal. They will still receive and consider your comments, but others including the Parish Council, will not see them. At this moment we do not know when this change will occur, but it is imminent.

In order that Granborough Parish Council are aware of your views when deciding our response to planning applications, please send your comments to the Parish Clerk by clicking on the Pen icon next to the planning applications below. We will not disclose your information to other parties.

Our Role in Planning

Granborough Parish Council is a Consultee only. We are notified of all new applications. We ensure they are considered at a Parish Council meeting. Residents can attend to tell us the relevant planning issues they would like the PC to include in its response. In the absence of public opinion, the Parish Council responds as they see fit.

Call In Process

The Parish Council is once again able to request that a Planning Application is Called In to the relevant planning committee, rather than being decided on delegated powers.

Within 28 days of being notified of the application, Granborough Parish Council must make the Planning Officer aware that they wish to Call In the Application to the relevant Planning Committee, and outline what the material planning reasons for the Call In are. A representative of the Parish Council will speak at committee if the request for Call In is agreed.

The Service Director of Planning and Environment (or their delegated officer), in consultation with the Chairman (or, in his absence, the Vice-Chairman) of the relevant planning committee, will determine whether or not the matter called-in by the Parish Council, should be considered by Planning Committee, or whether the exercise of delegated powers is appropriate.

Call In is appropriate for planning applications for full or outline consent, as well as applications for reserved matters. Other types of applications, consents, notifications will be determined under delegated powers.
